Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian army announced today that it had neutralized 205 terrorists during a series of military operations conducted throughout November as part of an intensified security campaign targeting armed groups operating near the borders with Mali, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria.
According to the military statement, the campaign included concentrated airstrikes and swift ground operations targeting militant strongholds and supply routes. The strikes resulted in the destruction of logistical sites and the seizure of weapons, ammunition, and materials used in the manufacture of explosives.
The military command affirmed that its units “continue to tighten the noose around terrorist organizations.” It noted that regional intelligence cooperation played a pivotal role in accurately pinpointing their movements. This enhanced the effectiveness of the operations.
These developments come as Niamey intensifies its efforts to combat extremism and bolster security in border regions, which have witnessed a wave of attacks recently. This is part of an effort to restore stability and strengthen the state’s presence.
