London, United Kingdom – The crisis between Britain and Russia has taken a sharper turn following the release of new findings in the investigation into the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal. This incident has resurfaced and is once again casting a long shadow over relations between the two countries.

According to authorities in London, extensive investigations have revealed further evidence linking the operation to elements connected to Russian intelligence. Britain considered this confirmation of a “clear attack on British national security.” Moscow swiftly rejected the accusations, accusing London of “fabricating a political narrative to serve Western agendas.”

British authorities confirmed that the new data will be presented to national security committees. The aim is to review the level of threat emanating from Russia and explore diplomatic and economic responses. This comes at a time of escalating tensions between the Eastern and Western blocs.

Observers believe that reopening the Skripal case at this time sends direct messages to Moscow, especially after its recent activity in several international cases. Russia, for its part, views the revival of this case as an attempt to undermine its interests and increase pressure on it in the European arena.

It is estimated that next week could see broader British moves at the Security Council and other international organizations. This comes amid expectations of renewed sanctions between the two sides, threatening to plunge relations into their worst phase since the Cold War.
