Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi inaugurated the fourth International Defense Industries Exhibition (EDEX 2025) on Monday. The exhibition is being held at the Al Manara International Conference Center and the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
The exhibition is considered a global platform for exchanging experiences and showcasing the latest armament systems and defense technologies, emphasizing Egypt’s endeavor to strengthen its regional and international partnerships.
Egypt’s message: Deterrence is an “investment in peace.”
At the opening, Defense Minister Lieutenant General Abdul Majeed Saqr welcomed the participants. He also stressed that the exhibition comes at a time of “rapid transformations and complex conflicts” in the region.
Saqr emphasized that Egypt’s possession of military strength is “an investment in genuine peace.” He added that the Egyptian armed forces are “a wise and rational force that protects and does not threaten, that builds and develops.”
The minister also noted that President Sisi’s repeated warnings about the region sliding into a full-blown war reflected his foresight. He called for prioritizing the logic of a just peace over the logic and arrogance of power.
