Cairo, Egypt – Mohamed Galal, a leading organizational figure in the Future of the Nation Party, praised the measures taken by the National Elections Authority to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process during the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections. He affirmed that the Authority succeeded in enforcing discipline within the polling stations and dealing with any violations that might affect the integrity of the vote.
Jalal stated that the commission was keen to address any illegal campaigning practices in the vicinity of polling stations, a phenomenon that had been noticeably frequent in the past. He noted that these efforts contributed to the smooth running of the voting process and the ease with which voters could access their polling stations.
He added that an analysis of field monitoring content, images, and videos circulating on social media and news platforms, along with announcements made at the National Elections Authority’s press conferences, reveals a clear commitment to transparency standards and the disclosure of all electoral complaints received by the Authority, whether from candidates, political parties, or citizens.
Sameh Qutb: The need to address some shortcomings in order to improve the electoral experience
For his part, Sameh Qutb, a leading figure in the party, stressed that the coming period requires strengthening voter awareness efforts and greater cooperation between political parties and civil society organizations. This is to ensure respect for the electoral process rules established by the electoral commission.
Qutb pointed out that some follow-up work detected a number of violations, such as:
Influencing the will of some voters
Buying votes in some areas
Mass transportation for voters
A number of candidates’ representatives were prevented from entering some polling stations.
This requires studying regulatory solutions to prevent the recurrence of such practices in the future.
He also pointed out that some voters were present at polling stations without knowing their voter registration numbers. He stressed the importance of expanding the system for checking polling station information in advance and activating the role of political parties and candidates in helping voters easily reach their polling stations, because popular participation is the greatest guarantee of the integrity of the elections.
Increased commitment and significant improvement over the first phase
Leaders of the Future of the Nation Party affirmed that the National Elections Authority succeeded in enhancing discipline within polling stations during this phase. This was a significant improvement over the first phase, which witnessed irregularities that led to re-elections in 19 individual constituencies.
