Jerusalem, Palestine – The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announced the end of its aid distribution operations in the Gaza Strip, after a difficult period of five months,

stressing that the time has come to hand over its model to the wider international community.

John Acree, the foundation’s executive director, said in an official statement

that GHF had achieved its goal of proving the success of a “new approach” to aid distribution.

This success will now be delivered following the establishment

of the Civil-Military Coordination Centre (CMCC)

and the renewed engagement of the international humanitarian community.

Akri noted that the joint center will adopt the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation model,

which seeks to prevent Hamas from diverting aid.

This is done by distributing them in centers separate

from the civilian population.

This withdrawal comes after previous reports in the Times of Israel

that the organization was facing financial difficulties.

It was excluded from some humanitarian operations after the ceasefire in Gaza began.

Although the organization is technically American, Israeli officials

and business leaders linked to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government

were involved in its founding, according to informed sources.

Netanyahu had previously stated that Israel’s goal was

for GHF to become the sole provider of aid in Gaza.

This is to replace international agencies that Israel accuses of being exploited by Hamas.
