Beirut, Lebanon – The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has stressed that strengthening the Lebanese army’s presence in the southern region is essential. This is necessary to maintain stability and support calm along the border.
UNIFIL stressed that adherence to Lebanese sovereignty and respect for existing security arrangements are cornerstones. These efforts aim to prevent escalation and create a safe environment for the population.
The mission explained that cooperation between state institutions and the international force remains the most important factor in ensuring the successful implementation of field tasks. This cooperation supports peacekeeping efforts in the coming phase.
