Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized his country’s full commitment to maintaining the security of Arab states. He affirmed that Lebanon will never be a platform for threatening the stability of its Arab neighbors or a transit point for any illicit activities. His remarks came during a meeting with a Saudi delegation, during which they discussed areas of joint cooperation and ways to revitalize economic relations.
Salam explained that the government is working to take decisive measures to prevent the smuggling of drugs and prohibited substances. He considers this a national responsibility and a priority in the context of strengthening trust with Arab countries. He also noted that restoring the flow of Lebanese exports to Gulf markets is a pressing economic objective, and Beirut is striving to achieve it through effective partnerships and stricter monitoring mechanisms.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Lebanon is operating within a foreign policy framework based on distancing itself from regional conflicts. He added that the country is also moving towards greater Arab cooperation, thereby restoring its natural role as a bridge of communication rather than a platform for tensions.
