Tel Aviv, Israel – One person was killed and three others were injured in a combined car-ramming and stabbing attack that took place Tuesday at the Gush Etzion junction in the southern occupied West Bank, according to the Israeli ambulance service (Magen David Adom).
Details of the attack and the neutralization of the perpetrators
The Israeli military reported injuries resulting from a “car-ramming and stabbing attack.” Reports indicate that the attackers drove their vehicle to the Gush Etzion junction, struck civilians standing nearby, then exited the vehicle and attempted to stab Israelis in the area.
The victim: A man in his thirties was stabbed to death at the scene.
Security response: Fighters from Reserve Battalion 7491 responded and opened fire on the attackers until they were neutralized at the scene. It is being investigated whether one of the attackers is a resident of Hebron and the other of Beit Ummar.
Multiple injuries and one critical case
The director general of Magen David Adom, Eli Ben, confirmed that three other people were injured in the attack. Magen David Adom paramedics treated:
A 55-year-old woman is in critical condition due to a gunshot wound to the lower part of her body.
Two other people (a man in about 30 years old and a 15-year-old boy) were in moderate condition.
A person with minor injuries is receiving treatment at the scene.
Large Israeli police and army forces are deployed in the area, where they have set up roadblocks and surrounded villages to eliminate suspicions about the presence of other armed men.
