Turkey – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in remarks relayed by official sources and attributed to his former security advisor, Fidan, stated that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine is now closer to ending. He pointed to tangible signs of de-escalation on the ground.
Fidan explained that this shift is the result of sustained diplomatic efforts and intense international pressure, as well as a desire on both sides to alleviate the economic and human losses the region has suffered since the beginning of the conflict.
He noted that the parties involved are currently exploring ways to reach temporary or long-term ceasefire agreements. This opens the door for the resumption of political negotiations and regional cooperation to stabilize the situation.
Observers hope this near-cessation of hostilities will lead to a reduction in military operations and greater protection for civilians, as well as pave the way for more sustainable measures to end the conflict in the long term.
