Beirut, Lebanon – An Israeli drone carried out an airstrike this morning, Saturday, November 8, 2025, targeting a civilian vehicle near the entrance to the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon. This is the first such escalation in the area in weeks, despite the ceasefire agreement being in effect.
Details of the raid and casualties
The raid occurred at approximately 8:15 AM Beirut time. The drone fired two guided missiles at a Rapid van as it traveled on the road leading to Martyr Salah Ghandour Hospital on the outskirts of the city.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the attack resulted in two injuries; the wounded were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No fatalities were reported at the time of publication.
Eyewitnesses reported that the car was completely destroyed by fire after being targeted. Images and videos circulating on social media show thick plumes of smoke rising from the site of the airstrike, amidst widespread panic among civilians.
The Israeli military has not yet issued any official statement regarding the strike. Observers speculate that the operation is part of an ongoing Israeli policy to prevent Hezbollah from rearming. The operation may also have targeted suspected Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon.
