Tehran, Iran – Tehran strongly refuted accusations leveled against it by Israel regarding what the latter described as an attempt to assassinate its ambassador to Mexico. Iranian media quoted a Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying that these allegations were “absurd fabrications aimed at tarnishing Iran’s image and inciting international public opinion against it.”
The spokesperson added that “the Zionist entity is experiencing a severe internal crisis and is attempting to export its problems abroad. This is being done through the fabrication of baseless intelligence narratives.” He emphasized that Iran “categorically rejects any acts of violence or assassinations outside its borders.”
For its part, Israel said its security services had thwarted a “complex terrorist plot” targeting its ambassador in the Mexican capital, accusing elements linked to Iran of being behind the operation.
These accusations come amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv. This escalation follows an exchange of accusations of covert operations and cyberattacks, threatening to open a new front in the ongoing conflict between the two sides across multiple arenas.
