Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Forces party issued a strongly worded statement criticizing the “resistance” bloc MPs, accusing them of “evading their political responsibilities and refusing to acknowledge their wrong choices.” The statement asserted that their daily pronouncements are aimed at justifying their failures and diverting attention from their responsibilities towards Lebanon.
The party pointed out that armed groups operating outside the framework of the state have worked for decades in the service of Iran, showing no respect for the Lebanese state. They relied on false propaganda about the concepts of “deterrence” and “balance.” But this exposed the fragility of their narratives and shattered their false foundations.
The statement emphasized that the continued presence of illegal weapons has led to Lebanon’s isolation both domestically and internationally. It called on the Speaker of Parliament to immediately put the expedited draft law to a vote. The statement also stressed the necessity of ending the control these organizations have over the country. The party asserted that the government cannot function effectively until these organizations surrender their weapons. This, it argued, is a prerequisite for rebuilding the state and safeguarding national security.
The party also denied allegations of expatriate cooperation with Israel. It asserted that the real concern lies in “fear of the free voice of the expatriates,” not in foreign interests.
