UAE League: Al Jazira defeats Al Bataeh, and Al Dhafra adds to Kalba’s woes

Cairo, Egypt – Al Jazira secured a 1-0 victory over Al Bataeh in their match on Saturday evening, as part of the 2025-26 UAE Pro League.

Al Jazira faced Al Bataeh on Saturday evening at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium. The match was part of the seventh round of the ADNOC Pro League.

Al Jazira started the match strongly, with Simon Banza missing a clear scoring opportunity in the 43rd minute. His shot from close range was brilliantly saved by Al Bataeh goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al Ameri. Egyptian Ibrahim Adel then followed up with a shot, but it went just wide of the post.

Al Jazira succeeded in scoring the winning goal in the 27th minute. This was through Simon Panza, after a shot from in front of the goal that found the back of the net.

Al Bataeh then tried to equalize, but to no avail, and the first half ended with Al Jazira leading by one goal.

In the 58th minute, Al Bataeh scored the equalizer, but it was cancelled due to a foul against Al Jazira’s defender.

Ibrahim Adel also missed a goal opportunity in the 69th minute, after a powerful shot from in front of the goal went just wide of the post.

With that result, Al Jazira raised its tally to 13 points in fifth place, while Al Bataeh came in 12th place with 3 points.

Al Dhafra increases Kalba’s woes

In the same round, Al Dhafra secured a 3-0 victory over Kalba. The match took place at Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium.

Al Dhafra took the lead with the first goal in the 18th minute through an own goal by Kalba defender Mohammed Sarfash.

Mohammed Al-Khalawi added Al-Dhafra’s second goal in the 72nd minute. This came after he dribbled the ball until he reached the penalty area and then shot a ball that found the back of the net.

Abderrahmane Sosi extended Al Dhafra’s lead by adding a third goal in the 79th minute. This came after a close-range shot from close range that found the back of the net, following a cross from the left wing.

The win raised Al Dhafra’s tally to 12 points in sixth place, while Kalba came in seventh place with 11 points.
