Seoul, South Korea – The Russian delegation has arrived in the South Korean capital, Seoul, to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. This year’s summit is being held amidst regional tensions and escalating global economic challenges.
During the summit, Moscow’s representatives are scheduled to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation among member states. They will also address mechanisms for countering Western sanctions, along with energy, trade, and food security issues.
The Russian delegation includes high-ranking officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy, and Energy. A diplomatic source confirmed that Russia’s participation reflects Moscow’s desire to expand its presence in Asia. They also aim to strengthen their partnerships with countries in the region, despite tensions with the West.
This year’s APEC summit is attracting increased international attention. All eyes are on the bilateral meetings between the leaders of the participating countries. This comes at a time when everyone is striving to de-escalate geopolitical crises and revive global economic growth.
