Egypt’s Supreme Election Commission: 2,409 candidates for individual seats in the House of Representatives

..and the nomination period closes tomorrow

Cairo, Egypt – Hazem Badawi, head of the Egyptian Supreme National Elections Authority, said that the committees receiving candidacy applications for the House of Representatives elections have been operating regularly for the seventh consecutive day.

This is at all locations designated by the Authority in the primary courts, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

He confirmed in the statement issued by the Supreme National Elections Authority that the number of those who submitted their candidacy papers was (218) across the country.

Thus, the total number of those who submitted candidacy applications under the individual system reached (2409).

He added that the seventh day of opening the door for nominations witnessed the National List for Egypt applying for candidacy under the list system for the East Delta sector.

Which includes the governorates of (Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, South Sinai),

The Western Delta sector includes the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, and Marsa Matrouh.

The Central Operations Room at the National Elections Authority headquarters stated that it monitored the progress of work at the committees receiving candidacy applications, and that no obstacles were detected throughout the day.

All documents submitted by applicants have been uploaded to the new electronic program.

Which was adopted by the National Elections Authority to digitize documents and store them electronically.
