Damascus, Syria – Transitional Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa issued a new decree specifying official holidays and days on which workers subject to the provisions of the Basic Law for State Workers benefit from a holiday with full pay.
The decree stated that “March 18 and December 8, the anniversary of the start of the revolution, and Liberation Day are national holidays with an official holiday.”
The decree abolished holidays on the occasion of the October War, Martyrs’ Day, and Teacher’s Day.
