Tel Aviv, Israel – Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee announced the targeting of Hezbollah leaders.
This comes as Israeli raids on southern and eastern Lebanon continue on an almost daily basis, despite the ceasefire agreement between the two sides.
Adraee pointed out in a statement on the “X” platform today, Tuesday, that “the Israeli army attacked yesterday, via Air Force planes, Muhammad Abbas Shashua, who was serving as commander of the artillery force in the Sahmar area, and killed him”.
He also added that during the war, Shashua planned many missile attacks towards Kiryat Shmona and the Golan Heights.
He (Shashou) also recently participated in rebuilding Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
He also confirmed the killing of “Muhammad Hussein Yassin, a senior officer in the artillery unit in Hezbollah’s Shaqif sector”, as he put it.
He pointed out that Yassin promoted many armed plans towards the Galilee region and Kiryat Shmona.
He also worked to restore Hezbollah’s capabilities in Shaqif (southern Lebanon), and at the weapons crossings south of Litani.
He stressed that these “actions constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon”.
He warned that the Israeli army “will continue to work to remove any threats to Israel”.

Since the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel took effect on November 28, following confrontations with Hezbollah that lasted nearly a year, Israel has launched hundreds of raids on various sites in southern Lebanon, and also the Bekaa (east of the country), targeting what it said were Hezbollah sites.
Israeli forces also refused to withdraw from five strategic points in southern Lebanon, overlooking both sides of the border.
While the Lebanese government approved the deployment of the army in the south, confining weapons to the state, and handing over Hezbollah’s weapons.
This sparked widespread criticism from the party, which confirmed that it would not give up its weapons, accusing the government of “submitting to American orders”.
