Tehran, Sudan – The Sudanese Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources called on Tuesday on all citizens on the banks of the Nile to take the necessary measures to protect their property and lives.

The Ministry confirmed that levels continued to rise on all banks of the Nile during this week.

She pointed out that the Blue Nile’s revenue decreased to 699 million cubic meters per day, and the discharge of the Roseires Dam was reduced to 613.

She reported that the drainage of Sennar Dam exceeded 688 million cubic meters per day, the drainage of Jabal al-Awliya exceeded 130, the drainage of Khashm al-Qirba Dam exceeded 120 million cubic meters per day, and the drainage of Merowe Dam exceeded 730.

She confirmed that there are stations, states and rivers that have reached flood levels, namely Wad Al-Eis (Sanja), Khartoum, Madani, Shendi, Atbara, Berber and Jabal Awliya stations, in addition to the states of Blue Nile, Sennar, Al-Jazira, Khartoum, Nile River and White Nile, and the Blue Nile (Al-Dim-Khartoum), White Nile (Al-Jabalin-Khartoum) and Nile (Khartoum – Dongola) rivers.

In addition, the Nile flood waters reached a number of peripheral neighborhoods on the banks of the river in the states of White Nile and Khartoum.

real danger

The Jabal Awliya Local Emergency Room announced that the areas on the banks of the White Nile in Jabal Awliya locality are facing a real danger due to rising water levels.

Which swept through all the barriers on the banks of the Nile in several areas, including “Al-Assal – Taiba Al-Hasnab – Al-Shaqilab – Al-Kalaklat”, and was flooded by the increasing waters of the Nile.

After that, it made its way to residential neighborhoods and citizens’ homes, which were now at risk of falling on their residents.

The chamber said in a statement on Monday that they had begun working with limited capabilities to avoid floods.

In addition to limiting the Nile water sweeping residential neighborhoods as much as possible, the rise in water levels is steadily increasing.

Many areas are now threatened with complete flooding.

She called for providing assistance to protect and support all citizens of the banks of the White Nile.

The Chamber also called on local and international relief organizations to provide assistance and provide tents to shelter those affected in the event of devastating floods, as well as all types of medical aid.
