Washington, United States – A senior Russian diplomat revealed an expected new round of talks between Moscow and Washington.
Foreign Minister Marco Rubio stressed that US President Donald Trump “is doing everything he can to end the war in Ukraine.”
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said his country hopes to hold a new round of talks with US officials this fall.
This is to address the outstanding issues between the two countries.
He also explained that “the desire of both sides to avoid a failure that might hinder the achievement of tangible results is the reason for the delay in arranging a new meeting.”
“In any case,” he added. We aim to hold such a meeting at least by the end of autumn.”

In addition, he pointed out that there were “technical and other problems in scheduling appointments”, but explained that “this is not the main reason for delaying the meeting”.
Ryabkov continued, saying, “The most important reason is that we do not want the meeting to be without tangible progress, as there is a risk that we will remain in our place without making any progress”.

The United States and Russia held two rounds of talks in Istanbul, the first in February and the second last April.
