Beirut, Lebanon – Hezbollah’s position remains the same in its refusal to hand over weapons to the Lebanese state.

While the Lebanese army was expected to submit its plan to confine weapons to the state to the government by the end of this month.

Sources reported that Hezbollah’s recent meetings with the envoys of President Joseph Aoun have not led to any results so far.

Refusal to hand over.. Even formally

The sources also added that the party informed Aoun and the army commander, Rudolf Heikal. Implementing the “arms blockade” meant confrontation.

She stressed that Hezbollah refused to accept implementing even “formal steps” in the arms inventory file.

In addition, she explained that Hezbollah’s decision to attend government sessions does not mean that there will be no escalation in the street.

This information came amid reports. One of the solutions currently proposed for the weapons file is for the army to present its plan. The proposal does not set a time period for handing over the weapons.

With continued communication between the Lebanese presidency and the leadership of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement. This is headed by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, the party’s closest ally.

It is noteworthy that the Lebanese government had decided, at the beginning of this month, to limit weapons to the state.

The army was tasked with developing a plan for this goal by the end of the month. Arms deliveries are to be completed by the end of the year (2025).

The United States presented a plan through its envoy to the region, Thomas Brack.

It outlined the most detailed steps yet to disarm Hezbollah, which rejects growing calls to surrender its weapons.
