Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The World Council for Tolerance and Peace, headed by His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, expressed its strong rejection of the Israeli government’s decision to occupy the Gaza Strip. They condemned this decision deeply, stressing that it represents a dangerous escalation that will have tragic humanitarian consequences. It also threatens further bloodshed of innocent people.
In a statement issued today, the Council warned that the continuation of these unilateral policies exacerbates the suffering of the Palestinian people. They called on the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities. This involves putting an end to these violations and working to ensure the protection of civilians. Moreover, they emphasized the need to prevent the deterioration of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan stressed that the rights of the Palestinian people are inalienable and non-negotiable. Violating them constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the principles of justice. He emphasized the need for urgent action to stop forced displacement and military escalation. Additionally, he called for the creation of conditions for a just and lasting peace.
He reiterated the Council’s position in support of the two-state solution as the only way to achieve security and stability in the region. The establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state is a political, legal, and moral demand that cannot be ignored.
