If your phone is overheating for no apparent reason, it could be a warning sign that an app is running in the background collecting your data or spying on you. Cybersecurity experts confirm that overheating is one of the clearest indicators. This suggests abnormal activity that is excessively draining the processor and battery.

According to technical reports, there are 5 key signs that can reveal your mobile phone is being monitored by a hidden app:

  1. Unexplained overheating even if you are not using your mobile phone or opening heavy applications.
  2. The battery drains faster than normal, especially after the latest update or downloading a new app.
  3. Increased internet consumption without actual use—this means that data is being collected and tracked in the background.
  4. Strange notifications or illogical permission requests appear for unrelated applications.
  5. A sudden slowdown in the device or frequent freezing despite light use.

Experts advise all users to review their installed applications and delete any from unknown sources. They also recommend keeping the operating system updated, as outdated vulnerabilities are often the first point of entry for espionage attempts.

With the rise of suspicious apps on alternative app stores, it remains essential to rely solely on the official app store. You should review the permissions before clicking “OK” to protect your privacy and prevent any unwanted tracking attempts.
