Istanbul, Turkey – A taxi driver in the Uskudar district of the Turkish state of Istanbul sprayed pepper gas on the face of a woman who was next to another driver during a quarrel that occurred between two drivers.
The incident was captured on a mobile phone camera.
The woman reportedly temporarily lost her sight and filed a complaint against the aggressive driver.
This led to angry reactions on social media, as the video clip was circulated repeatedly.
In detail, the incident occurred around 8 pm on Saturday in the Altunizadeh neighborhood of Uskudar district, where a quarrel broke out between the driver of a car with license plate number 34 and the driver of another car with MIE number 319 due to a financial dispute.
At first, the driver hit the other car and continued on his way, but the quarrel developed quickly and was interspersed with insults.
The quarrel continued until the traffic light, when the driver sprayed the woman sitting in the passenger seat with pepper gas.
The driver sped off, and the accident was recorded with a mobile phone camera.
A woman reportedly lost her sight for about three hours after being exposed to pepper gas.
The woman went to the hospital and obtained a medical report, and the driver accompanying her filed a complaint against the aggressive driver.
He also claimed that her child was in the back seat of the car.
