Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Media reports revealed that Emma Hemming Willis, wife of Hollywood star Bruce Willis, made the “most difficult decision”.
This happened after her husband’s health condition worsened.
Willis, 70, has frontotemporal dementia (FTD), first reported in February 2023.
According to experts and doctors, this disease is rare, affects behavior and language, and worsens over time.
Given the degenerative nature of the disease, Hemming, 47, said her husband hoped their daughters’ lives would not be affected by the modifications made to their home.
A marriage that produced two daughters
The model and entrepreneur married the star of the movie “Die Hard” in 2009, and they had two daughters, Mabel (13 years old) and Evelyn (11 years old).
“Willis wanted his daughters to be in a home specifically designed to meet their needs, not his own,” she told ABC.
She added that the Hollywood star now lives in a one-story house with a full-time care team.
His health condition deteriorates and his needs become more complex.
Hemming, who described the decision as “the hardest decision,” said she was trying to ensure the continuity of the family’s life.
By taking her two daughters to breakfast and dinner with their father, she also visits Willis “a lot”.
“When we go there, we’re either outside or watching a movie,” she explained. It’s just about being there and connecting with Bruce.”
Speaking about the star’s health, she said: “Bruce is still very active. He is in excellent health overall. But it’s his brain that weakens him.”
She highlighted that his language abilities were “fading away,” but the family had “learned to adapt.”
