Dubai, United Arab Emirates – A new study, published in the Indian Express, has revealed that incorporating a few simple foods into your diet can halt memory decline, improve concentration, and ensure mental acuity even into old age.

The study recommended 8 foods, which are as follows:

  • Fatty fish (such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines) are rich in omega-3 acids, which support brain cells and improve neural communication.
  • Blueberries contain antioxidants that protect the brain from aging and oxidative stress.
  • Walnuts are a rich source of DHA, which has been linked to improved cognitive performance and short- and long-term memory.
  • Dark chocolate (at least 70 percent cocoa) boosts blood flow to the brain and increases alertness and focus.
  • Turmeric contains curcumin, which penetrates the blood-brain barrier, reduces inflammation, and improves mood.
  • Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc, magnesium, and iron, which aid learning and concentration.
  • Leafy greens (such as spinach, lettuce, and kale) contain folic acid, vitamin K, and antioxidants that support the formation of new cells and slow brain aging.
  • Green tea combines caffeine and L-theanine, which promotes calm focus and mental alertness.

Integrated lifestyle

The study indicated that improving memory does not depend solely on food, but rather requires regular exercise.

In addition to getting good sleep, managing stress, and maintaining active social relationships.

She emphasized that these factors combined can slow or even reverse the aging process of the brain if attention is given early, beginning at the age of thirty.
