The program focuses on developing trainees’ skills and enhancing their knowledge in the areas of digital leadership, emerging technologies, and change management. It also enables them to build plans and strategies that support the efficient and sustainable implementation of digital initiatives within a context of interconnectedness, integration, and flexibility.

The program targets elite government employees in the fields of digital transformation and information technology. It addresses digital readiness, modern work methods, and the adoption of digital capabilities and unified systems. It also focuses on developing leadership and technical skills, and enhancing the ability to adopt modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Which contributes to raising the efficiency of government performance and improving the quality of services provided.
The program, implemented by the department in cooperation with Accenture’s Audacity platform, extends over a period of 6 weeks. It includes a group of specialized workshops and interactive sessions. In addition to applied projects aimed at enabling participants to design and implement realistic digital transformation initiatives in their regions, while evaluating their outputs according to specific criteria to select the best projects and distinguished participants.
Leading digital transformation with a strategic vision
Eng. Lamia Al Hussan Al Shamsi, Director of Sharjah Digital Department, confirmed that the launch of the “Digital Transformation Expert” program comes within the framework of the department’s commitment to building a more prepared, efficient and flexible digital government, with a vision of “human-centered digital creativity.”
In her speech on the occasion of the launch of the first session of the program, she said: “The program is not a traditional training initiative, but rather a strategic stop for investing in government human capital. It stems from our conviction that true digital transformation begins with building the competencies capable of leading it. This enhances the ability of government agencies to keep pace with the rapid transformations in government work. Which has gone beyond the concepts of digitization to adopt a comprehensive approach that redefines work mechanisms, decision-making, and service design.”
She added that the program is in line with Sharjah’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028, which aims to provide proactive and seamless digital services. Enhancing the efficiency of institutional human performance and empowering government agencies with the necessary digital capabilities. In addition to developing a shared and secure digital infrastructure based on data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Digital capabilities are a national necessity
She explained that building digital capabilities is today a national necessity. Pointing out that the program aims to prepare government cadres who possess strategic thought and technical awareness. It is capable of leading change and contributing to building an integrated and sustainable digital system.
The program aims to form a network of digital transformation leaders within government agencies. To enhance the unification of the corporate digital vision and accelerate the implementation of transformational initiatives across the emirate.
The program embodies Sharjah Digital Department’s move towards moving from enabling digital tools to building sustainable institutional capacities. This enhances the Sharjah government’s readiness to continue developing a more integrated, innovative, and responsive digital government model to future requirements.
