Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, discussed the latest developments in the region amid escalating military tensions during a phone call on Sunday with Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy. They also discussed the implications of these developments for regional and international peace and security.
Condemnation of Iranian attacks
Meloni reiterated Italy’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and several other brotherly nations, emphasizing that they constitute a violation of international law and the UN Charter. She commended the UAE’s stance in protecting its security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and citizens. She also expressed Italy’s full solidarity with the UAE in this regard.
Appreciation for the care shown to Italian citizens
The Italian Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to His Highness the President for the attention the UAE is giving to Italian nationals residing in the country during these difficult times. She affirmed the continuation of cooperation and coordination to ensure their safety.

For his part, Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his gratitude for Italy’s supportive and solidarity-based stance with the UAE. He emphasized that the continued military escalation undermines stability and security in the Middle East region.
