Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received a phone call today from His Excellency Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity in Libya. During the call, Dbeibah expressed his country’s full solidarity with the UAE following the blatant Iranian attacks on its territory. He also expressed Libya’s solidarity with a number of countries in the region.
Libya’s support for the UAE
Al-Dabaiba affirmed that the Iranian attacks constitute a blatant violation of state sovereignty and undermine the security and stability of the region. He emphasized Libya’s support for the measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens.
Call for an immediate halt to the escalation
For his part, His Highness the President stressed the importance of regional coordination to maintain security and stability. Both sides also called for an immediate halt to the military escalation in the region and emphasized the importance of returning to the political and diplomatic track to address outstanding issues.
Supportive international communications
This call comes as part of a series of calls His Highness the President of the UAE made to a number of world leaders in recent days. These calls included the interim president of Venezuela, the president of Tanzania, the president of Uganda, and the prime minister of Latvia. All of them affirmed their support for and solidarity with the UAE against Iranian attacks on its territory. They also expressed their rejection of any threat to the country’s sovereignty and security.
