Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that the country was subjected to a blatant attack by Iranian ballistic missiles, confirming that the UAE air defense systems dealt with the threat with high combat efficiency, as they succeeded in intercepting and destroying a number of missiles that targeted vital and civilian areas.
Human and material losses in Abu Dhabi
The Ministry of Interior issued an official statement confirming that relevant authorities in the country responded to the aftermath of debris falling from interception operations onto a residential area in Abu Dhabi. The incident resulted in limited property damage and, tragically, the death of one person of Asian nationality. The Ministry reassured the public that the security situation throughout the country is under complete control and that all relevant authorities are monitoring developments on the ground around the clock to ensure public safety.
Strong condemnation and warning of a “dangerous escalation”
The Ministry of Defense condemned the attack in the strongest terms, describing it as a “cowardly act” that represents a dangerous escalation threatening the safety of civilians and undermining the stability of the region. The Ministry emphasized the UAE’s categorical rejection of targeting civilian infrastructure and national facilities, affirming that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international conventions and laws.
The right to respond and maximum readiness
In a decisive statement, the Ministry of Defense affirmed that “the state reserves its full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its territory, its people, and its residents.” It added that the armed forces are fully prepared and ready to deal with any future threats, emphasizing that they will resolutely confront anything that aims to undermine the security and stability of the nation, considering the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors “a paramount priority that cannot be compromised.”
A call to obtain information from official sources
The ministry concluded its statement by urging the public to obtain information and news related to the security situation only from official and accredited sources within the country, warning against circulating rumors or unreliable information that could cause anxiety and affect public safety during these exceptional circumstances.
This attack comes amidst a wave of violent military escalation affecting several Gulf states today, following the outbreak of direct confrontation between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance, placing the region at its most complex security crossroads in decades.
