Abu Dhabi, UAE – Ajman defeated their host Khorfakkan 5-2 in the match that took place today at Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium, as part of the 16th round of the UAE Pro League.
Ajman increased their points tally to 20, moving up to seventh place in the UAE league standings. Khorfakkan remained on 18 points in eighth place.
Ajman finished the first half with a clean three-goal lead, in their best attacking half against Khorfakkan in the competition, with the goals coming from inside the penalty area.
Walid Azaro opened the scoring in the 24th minute after a pass from Guilherme Sossigan, before adding the second goal with a header in the 29th minute. Ledhiri Silva then sealed the victory with the third goal in the 38th minute.
In the second half, Silva returned to score his second personal goal and the fourth for his team in the 56th minute, then substitute Anas Amtitch added the fifth goal in the 79th minute.
Abdullah Al-Rifai narrowed the gap by scoring two goals for Khorfakkan in the 83rd and 88th minutes, ending the match with a big and well-deserved victory for Ajman, in the highest-scoring match of the round so far.
