Dubai, UAE – Bilal Al-Badour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cultural and Scientific Symposium, affirmed that Emirati-Kuwaiti relations represent an exceptional model of cultural and social integration.

Highlights
  • Common Roots
  • Three pillars of the relationship
  • A vision for the future

He pointed out that the seeds of this cooperation were planted decades ago through education,

health and media, to form today a solid foundation for contemporary projects and initiatives.

Common Roots

This came during a session entitled “The Historical Cultural Landscape of Kuwait in the Emirates: Roots and Features”

This is part of the activities of the Emirati-Kuwaiti Media Forum, which was launched today at the “Museum of the Future” in Dubai.

During the session, which was moderated by journalist Hind Al-Naqbi, Al-Badour reviewed how diving trips

and the pearl trade contributed to bringing together poets and writers from both countries.

This paved the way for a deep cultural exchange whose features preceded the establishment of the Union state.

Al-Badour pointed out that the old Kuwait magazine and the schools and hospitals

that Kuwait established in the Emirates before the union were “living evidence” of the unity of destiny and goal.

The first generation of Emiratis received their education in Kuwait or through its curricula, which shaped a shared cultural awareness.

Three pillars of the relationship

Al-Badour stated that Kuwait was a pioneer in supporting vital sectors in the UAE.

In particular, through the establishment of “Kuwait Radio from Dubai”

and contributing to the founding of the first cinema in the country,

In addition to its pivotal role in preparing the first Emirati artists in the fields of theater and arts.

A vision for the future

In the context of recent initiatives, Al-Badour stressed the need for contemporary cultural projects to continue developing in order to maintain their momentum.

He called for utilizing modern media to transform knowledge into

innovative cultural content that serves the Gulf and Arab identity.

He stressed that cultural institutions in both countries are working today

in a spirit of teamwork to promote this heritage and pass it on to future generations.
