Bhang, Malaysia – The Emirates Red Crescent Authority launched on Sunday the final phase of a project to build homes for families affected by the floods in the Malaysian state of Bhang.
This comes as part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian and development efforts. The country continues to support communities affected by disasters around the world.
The project is being implemented under the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.
It is also being carried out under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
This comes as a further confirmation of the UAE’s well-established humanitarian approach to providing relief to those affected and promoting social stability.
Relief for those affected and promotion of stability
The project is being implemented under the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him,
and with the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
This confirms the UAE’s well-established humanitarian approach to providing relief to those affected and promoting social stability.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Majesty Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Sultan of Bhang,
and His Excellency Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirates Red Crescent.
Also in attendance was His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Malaysia.
Several senior state government officials and representatives of community organizations were also present.
The project aims to provide suitable and safe housing for families affected by the floods.
This included the construction and furnishing of fully equipped housing units distributed across seven districts in the state of Pahang. The total cost of the project was AED 11.2 million.
It was completed 100% according to the highest standards that ensure safety and quality of life.
Serving the most vulnerable groups
The Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority affirmed that the project embodies the depth of bilateral relations
between the UAE and Malaysia, reflecting their shared commitment to serving those most in need.
He stressed the Authority’s commitment to continuing to implement sustainable humanitarian
and development projects in cooperation with local and international partners.
For his part, Sultan Bhang expressed his deep gratitude to His Highness the President of the UAE for the country’s continued support.
He also commended the role of the Emirates Red Crescent in providing assistance
to those affected and upholding the values of humanitarian solidarity.
The UAE ambassador to Malaysia also affirmed the strength of the strategic relations between the two countries.
This is especially true with the entry into force of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
He also noted the special relationship between the UAE and the state of Bhang.
