Abu Dhabi, UAE – The General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Philippine Civil Aviation Authority held a round of air transport discussions between the two countries.

During the consultations, air transport requirements and ways to enhance joint air links were discussed.

The consultations resulted in an agreement to grant the UAE additional flight rights.

This allows UAE national carriers to operate additional flights to Manila.

This enhances air connectivity, meets the growing demand for travel, and reflects the depth of the strong aviation ties between the two countries.

His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said that the step “represents an embodiment of the close cooperation between the UAE and the Philippines in the civil aviation sector, and confirms our keenness to enhance air connectivity and meet the needs of passengers, which contributes to supporting the growth of the sector and enhancing communication between the two countries”.

The UAE and the Philippines enjoy long-standing and dynamic cooperative relations in the field of civil aviation.

Supported by strong demand for air transport and active flights between the two countries.

It is based on the presence of a large Filipino community living and working in the UAE, which increases the demand for air transport between the two countries.
