Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, stressed that the martyrs of the UAE presented an immortal model of the meanings of true giving, and wrote with their sacrifices a bright page in the history of the nation, stressing that protecting it is a great responsibility that can only be undertaken by loyal men who have made their lives a shield for it.
He said in a speech on the occasion of Martyr’s Day: “On this day, corresponding to November 30 of each year, we stand in reverence and pride, recalling the memory of the righteous martyrs of the Emirates, who, through their sacrifices, wrote the highest meanings of loyalty, embodied the greatest images of courage and belonging, and offered their pure souls in defense of the homeland and in defense of its pride and dignity.”
He added: “Our martyrs have provided an immortal model of the meanings of true giving, and with their sacrifices they wrote a bright page in the history of the Emirates, stressing that protecting the homeland is a great responsibility that can only be undertaken by loyal men who have made their lives a shield for this homeland”.
He continued: “On this immortal occasion, we assure our children and future generations that the martyrs of the Emirates are symbols of pride and titles of honor, and that their fragrant biography will remain an inspiring beacon, pushing us to continue the journey with stronger determination and an unyielding will, and that their memory will remain alive in the conscience of every Emirati, as it is a firm covenant renewed in souls that the homeland whose sons rose to defend it will remain a precious trust that we protect with determination, loyalty and sincerity.”
Sheikh Mansour concluded by saying: “May God have mercy on the righteous martyrs of the nation, and make their abode Paradise, and perpetuate the blessing of security and stability for our dear country, and raise its flag high and fluttering with the loyalty of its people, the sincerity of their determination, and their sincere arms in serving their country and their leadership”.
