Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE,
received on Monday in Abu Dhabi, Massad Boulos, Advisor to the US President for African and Arab Affairs,
This is within the framework of strengthening political coordination
between the two countries on the most pressing regional issues.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the meeting addressed
the latest developments in the region,
most notably the tragic developments of the civil war in Sudan.
The conflict, which has entered its third year amid a worsening humanitarian crisis,
was discussed, along with regional and international efforts to halt the fighting.
Ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches civilians without hindrance.
Supporting security and stability
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the efforts made
by US President Donald Trump to support security and stability in Sudan.
He affirmed the UAE’s support for these efforts and all initiatives aimed
at achieving an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
This will contribute to ending the suffering of the Sudanese people
and supporting their aspirations for a safe and dignified life.
The UAE Foreign Minister stressed the importance of
a civilian-led political solution that puts Sudan on
a sustainable path towards security and stability.
He believes that ending the war requires “genuine international cooperation”
and a serious will from the Sudanese parties to return to the negotiating table.
He also stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts
to prevent further escalation that would worsen the humanitarian situation.
Zayed…and the files of strategic cooperation
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Massad Boulos discussed
a number of strategic cooperation files between the UAE and the United States.
Especially in the areas of regional security, development,
and supporting stability in conflict zones.
Both sides affirmed their continued joint coordination
to address regional challenges and enhance peace prospects.
This meeting comes amid increasing diplomatic
efforts led by the UAE to support stability in Sudan.
Amid repeated international calls to stop the violence and create
the right environment for a comprehensive political process.
