Coinciding with the UAE National Day celebrations, the UAE topped global indicators, accelerated digital and preventative transformation, and expanded its international partnerships in the fields of medical care and innovation, to continue to consolidate its position as a global health center that combines quality, sustainability, and humanity.
Global leadership and comprehensive healthcare quality
The UAE ranked first globally in terms of the number of internationally accredited health facilities during 2025, an achievement that reflects a quality system based on global standards and advanced health preparedness to face challenges.
According to official data reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the country ranked among the top ten countries globally in 21 health indicators, and it ranked first regionally and 20th globally in the quality of healthcare.
Federal funding and fiscal sustainability
In the 2025 budget, the federal government allocated approximately 5.745 billion dirhams, equivalent to 8% of total federal spending, to support the health and community prevention sector.
It is estimated that health spending in the country will continue to grow in the coming years, driven by infrastructure development strategies, modern medical technologies and long-term investment partnerships.
Digital transformation and smart health
The UAE continued to accelerate digital transformation in the health sector, with the unified “Nabdh” platform in Dubai reaching more than 10.41 million health records by mid-2025, with 1,888 facilities and more than 53,000 health professionals linked to the system.
The Dubai Health Authority has also integrated artificial intelligence technologies into the platform to enhance data privacy and improve the efficiency of clinical services.
Service efficiency and performance re-engineering
The Ministry of Health and Prevention launched the “Eliminating Bureaucracy 2025” initiative, which aims to reduce the time required to complete services by up to 90%.
The plan includes the establishment of a national center for digital experience, the expansion of smart service channels, and the activation of customer councils to improve user experience and enhance public confidence in health services.
Abu Dhabi Global Health Week 2025
The capital, Abu Dhabi, concluded the “World Health Week 2025” events with great success, as the event attracted more than 14,290 visitors and 1,295 participants from global institutions, in addition to 271 speakers from 95 countries and 140 exhibitors.
The week resulted in the signing of 33 Memoranda of Understanding and the launch of pioneering initiatives in artificial intelligence, precision health and longevity medicine, further cementing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global platform for health innovation.
Prevention, vaccination, and humanitarian contributions
The Ministry of Health affirmed the country’s successes in combating polio as evidence of the efficiency of the UAE health system.
Through its international initiatives, the UAE has provided more than 850 million vaccine doses, and in 2024 funded an urgent response in the Gaza Strip worth $5 million to vaccinate about 560,000 children against polio.
