Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has issued a tender to all eligible entities to implement the seventh phase project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
Which includes the installation of 2,000 MW solar photovoltaic systems and 1,400 MW battery energy storage systems for six hours.
This provides a total storage capacity of 8,400 megawatt hours, making it one of the largest storage-enhanced solar energy projects in the world.
The project, which will be implemented according to the independent energy producer model, supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050 of the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.
So far, the Authority has received more than 49 letters requesting expressions of interest requesting a qualification application document from companies wishing to participate in implementing the seventh phase of the complex, which was put on the market on May 16, 2025.
The tender was issued to qualified developers on October 20, 2025.
The complex’s current production capacity is 3,860 MW, with an additional 800 MW under construction.
