Abu Dhabi, UAE – Ambassador Haddad El Gohary, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, met with a number of prominent members of the Egyptian community in Abu Dhabi. The meeting took place at the Egyptian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of the Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE, Essam Ashour.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Haddad Al-Gohary welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to strengthening the brotherly relations between Egypt and the UAE. He noted that the Ministry places particular importance on providing necessary care for Egyptian citizens abroad.

He pointed out that improving the efficiency of services provided to Egyptians abroad is among the Ministry’s top priorities, especially in the areas of digital transformation of consulates and streamlining work processes. This will contribute to facilitating procedures and reducing the time required to complete transactions.

During the meeting, Al-Jawhari discussed the new electronic system launched by the Ministry for scheduling appointments to issue passports and birth certificates. He emphasized that this step contributes to expediting procedures and facilitating services for citizens.

He also listened to a number of suggestions from members of the community regarding issues of concern to them. He commended the community’s positive engagement, which he described as an essential part of the consular development process.

As part of the initiatives launched by the Ministry in cooperation with state institutions to serve Egyptian communities abroad, the Assistant Minister reviewed a number of important initiatives, such as facilitating financial transfers and opening bank accounts from abroad through the “Open Your Account in Egypt” protocol signed by the Ministry in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt.

He also discussed initiatives related to insurance and education aimed at improving services provided to Egyptians abroad.

Al-Gohary also called on members of the Egyptian community abroad to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, stressing that the Egyptian state spares no effort in providing the necessary opportunities for all its citizens abroad to exercise their constitutional rights and participate in the electoral process.
