Doha, Qatar – UAE national billiard team players Mahmoud Sharif and Khaled Al Zarouni achieved two important victories in the 10-ball World Championship.
It is currently hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha, and will continue until next November 2, with the participation of an elite group of the game’s most prominent stars in the world.
Mahmoud Sharif defeated Qatari Mishal Al Ali with a score of 9-8.
Meanwhile, Khaled Al Zarouni defeated Filipino Marc Anthony 9-6 in the third round of the tournament.
The two players are participating directly from the second stage, which includes 112 players out of 256 representing 55 countries that participated in the first qualifiers, in one of the most prominent tournaments on the agenda of the International Billiards Federation.
Sherif and Al-Zarouni are preparing to play two strong matches in the next round.
The former will meet Hsieh Chia-chen from Taipei, China, who qualified for the quarter-finals of the last World Championship held in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Al Zarouni faces Japanese Naoyuki Aoi, runner-up in the 2025 European Open Billiards Championship.
