Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, will host tomorrow the 30th meeting of the Council of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA),
with the participation of more than 350 international representatives.

renewable energy production by 2030.
This is in addition to exploring collective priorities to accelerate the pace of the global energy transition.
Emirates agreement
The two-day meeting comes as part of intensive preparations
for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Brazil.
The 16th General Assembly of IRENA is scheduled for January 2026,
It represents a pivotal platform for promoting international cooperation in the sustainable energy sector.
And follow up on the implementation of the “UAE Agreement”
that was reached during the COP28 conference.

Achieving the goals of the “UAE Agreement”
The meeting sessions focus on discussing the practical steps needed to
achieve the goals set out in the “UAE Agreement”.
This comes after recent IRENA reports showed that global progress in
renewable energy is still below the level required to stay on track.
Towards achieving the goal of tripling production capacity by 2030.
A new roadmap for energy transition
The discussions address the role of “clean manufacturing” in promoting sustainable development,
and expanding regional and international cooperation to strengthen
supply chains for materials and renewable energy.
Furthermore, updates on IRENA’s programs supporting
green project financing will be reviewed.
In addition to exchanging national experiences
between the participating countries.
The meeting’s outcomes are expected to enrich the deliberations
of the Agency’s sixteenth General Assembly.
Which will be held in January 2026 in Abu Dhabi,
to be the first ministerial meeting of energy that year,
Ministers and high-level representatives will subsequently meet to assess global progress.
And setting priorities for the next phase in the path of sustainable energy transformation.
