Cairo, Egypt—Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, received Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the new UAE Ambassador to Cairo, at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Dr. Manal Awad stressed the special nature of Egyptian-Emirati relations and the strength of the fraternal ties that unite the two countries and brotherly peoples.

The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation between the two sides in a number of areas of work of the Ministry of Local Development.
At the forefront of these issues is the training file, exchange of expertise, and qualification of cadres in the governorates, as well as digital transformation and facilitating the provision of services to citizens.
In addition to the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, which is implemented in cooperation with the UAE.

Continued cooperation between the UAE and Egypt
The meeting also discussed ways to continue joint cooperation between the two countries in a number of environmental and sustainable energy fields.
