Abu DHABI, UAE – Spanish energy group Repsol has concluded an agreement to sell a 49% stake in its largest portfolio of renewable energy assets in Spain to Masdar.
According to the agreement, the deal, the Minerva project, worth about 850 million euros ($996 million), includes an installed generation capacity of 706 megawatts distributed over 13 wind farms and six solar farms.
The deal is in its final stages and is scheduled to be officially completed within weeks.
This agreement will be the latest in a series of agreements signed by Masdar with Spanish companies. As part of its efforts to expand into the Iberian market.
In 2024, Masdar acquired the Spanish renewable energy company Saita Yield from the Canadian company Brookfield Renewable for $1.4 billion.
Recently, it purchased from Endesa a 49.99% stake in a solar energy project portfolio. It cooperated with Moiv in a green hydrogen project worth $1.2 billion.
