Cairo, Egypt – The film “Barshama,” starring Hisham Maged, continues to achieve a strong audience presence in cinemas since its release during the last Eid al-Fitr season. The film has consistently topped the box office, maintaining an upward trend that reflects the increasing demand for it day after day.
Record-breaking numbers put him in the lead
In just 29 days, the film grossed nearly 165 million Egyptian pounds after selling over 1.55 million tickets, cementing its status as one of the most successful films in recent times. Thanks to these figures, “Barshama” climbed to third place on the list of highest-grossing films in Egyptian cinema history, trailing “Siko Siko,” which holds second place with revenues of approximately 187.9 million Egyptian pounds, while “Awlad Rizk” remains at the top.
A social story with a comedic twist
The film unfolds within a social comedy framework, exploring the lives of high school students and highlighting the phenomenon of reliance on private tutoring. It also addresses the issue of cheating in exams and underscores the socioeconomic disparities among students.
