The 8th edition of the National and Reserve Service Career Fair (NRSCF) concluded today at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Expo City Dubai, attracting wide attendance and strong engagement from participating entities and visitors.
On the third day, Brigadier General Hamad Khalifa Ali Al Neyadi, Chief of the National Service and Reserve Authority (NSRA), visited the fair, where he toured the fair’s pavilions and was briefed on the available employment and training opportunities, as well as the services offered to recruits and graduates.
NRSCF featured the participation of more than 80 entities from both the public and private sectors, representing 30 diverse fields. It offered promising career opportunities to national and reserve service recruits and graduates, highlighting the commitment of these entities to attracting national talent and enhancing their role in the labor market.
The number of visitors during the three-day fair exceeded 20,000 Emirati citizens, including new graduates and experienced professionals, who attended to explore employment opportunities and build successful career paths.
NRSCF also served as a strategic platform for participating companies and institutions to build a comprehensive database of national service recruits and graduates, supporting future employment and national talent acquisition efforts.
The third day featured a series of interactive workshops and discussion sessions, focused on developing participants’ professional and personal skills and familiarizing them with the current and future demands of the labor market. These sessions covered key topics, including labor market transformations in the UAE and the roles of media and education in countering extremism and bridging skill gaps through workplace-based training and education.
One of the prominent participations at NRSCF was that of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC), where Ahmed Jassem Al Shamsi, Enterprise Chief of Human Capital at ENEC, stated that their participation in the National and Reserve Service Career Fair is part of the company’s strategic priorities to invest in Emirati youth who will lead the clean energy sector in the UAE, ensuring the sustainable operation of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant for the next sixty years.
He noted that the educational and training programs offered by ENEC are aligned with the requirements of the national labor market, providing career opportunities in the nuclear energy sector.
In the same spirit, the UAE Space Agency highlighted its efforts to attract young national talent, noting that during last year’s edition of NRSCF, it recruited one of the engineers currently participating in “The Emirates’ Mission to Explore the Asteroid Belt,” one of the UAE’s most ambitious scientific initiatives in the space sector.
This year, the UAE Space Agency aims to attract a number of new graduates and offer distinctive, high-quality training opportunities for students in the space sector, thereby enhancing their scientific and practical capabilities and preparing them for active participation in future national space projects. This initiative is part of the agency’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s strategic vision of building a knowledge- and technology-based economy.
Additionally, Dr. Yasser Al Wahedi, President of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, emphasized the importance of NRSCF in supporting employment pathways and professional development for national service graduates. He pointed out that the Academy launched, for the first time this year, a Marine Engineering Program, which represents a qualitative addition to specialized training programs in the maritime sector.
Dr. > Dima: Al Wahedi explained that Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy aims to offer 120 scholarships annually, through which students are qualified to occupy critical roles in the maritime transport sector, such as Marine Engineers and Marine Navigation Officers, as part of the Academy’s efforts to contribute to building a qualified national workforce equipped with the technical and knowledge-based skills necessary for work in this strategic sector.
He added that the Academy’s participation in NRSCF represents an exceptional opportunity to raise awareness among graduates about the nature of work in the maritime sector, enabling them to learn about available specializations and future career paths, whether in government entities or private companies operating in the field, thus enhancing their chances of securing jobs that match their capabilities and ambitions.
Dr. Al Wahedi further noted that through such initiatives, the Academy seeks to support the UAE’s vision for Emiratisation in the maritime sector and to provide an advanced educational environment that meets the latest international standards in maritime training, thereby contributing to sustainable development and advancing a knowledge- and innovation-based national economy.
The current edition of the National and Reserve Service Career Fair (NRSCF) hosted more than 40 speakers, experts, and specialists from around the world, who delivered a series of interactive workshops and specialized lectures addressing various topics directly related to the needs of national service recruits and graduates.
The workshops focused on developing personal and professional skills, boosting self-confidence, empowering participants to excel in job interviews, and guiding them to make well-informed career decisions aligned with their interests, skills, and future ambitions.
The organization of this NRSCF stems from the National Service and Reserve Authority’s commitment to supporting recruits and graduates, aiming to facilitate their transition from the training phase to professional life by providing an effective platform where they can meet representatives of government and private entities under one roof, thereby strengthening professional relationships and opening new horizons for direct employment or future collaboration.
The National Service and Reserve Authority believes in the importance of investing in the energy and potential of young Emiratis who have completed their national service program by creating opportunities that enable them to contribute to vital sectors within the UAE.
NRSCF also aims to enhance communication between graduates and various employers, building sustainable connections with participating entities, ensuring their effective integration into the labor market, and providing continuous support for their professional and career development.
The fair reflects the wise leadership’s commitment to empowering the youth of the nation, enhancing their capabilities, and creating an enabling environment for them to pursue career paths that align with their abilities and fulfill their ambitions.
Through such initiatives, the UAE emphasizes the importance of youth as a cornerstone across diverse fields of work, ranging from the military sector to the economic, educational, and commercial sectors, as well as other vital industries that require qualified and committed national talent.
