Kabul, Afghanistan – The Afghan Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday the end of military operations on the common border with the Republic of Pakistan.

This came after Saudi mediation contributed to calming the tensions that the region witnessed during the past few days.

The escalation began last Thursday with the sound of two explosions in the Afghan capital, and a third explosion in the southeast of the country.

On Friday, the Taliban government’s Defense Ministry held Pakistan responsible for the attacks, accusing it of “violating its sovereignty”.

Islamabad did not confirm its role, but called on Kabul to stop harboring members of the Pakistani Taliban.

While the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued its statement on Saturday, the Kingdom expressed its deep concern about the border clashes between the two countries.

It also called for maximum restraint and avoiding escalation

She stressed the importance of giving priority to the language of dialogue and wisdom in a way that contributes to reducing tension and protecting the security and stability of the region.
