Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Several countries welcomed the agreement for Israel and Hamas to agree to implement the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan in Gaza.
Trump said in an interview with Fox News that the agreement reached on Gaza received broad international support.
He stressed that “the efforts of the whole world combined to make it a success”.
Trump added: “This is a truly remarkable period, and what has been achieved has been a great achievement for Israel. It is also a success for the Arab countries and for the United States. “It was great to be involved in a deal of this magnitude.”
He explained that the agreement “goes beyond Gaza, as it represents peace in the Middle East, which is amazing”.
He expressed his belief that “Iran will be part of the broader peace process.”
Trump revealed that “the hostages will be released on Monday, including the dead.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he will gather his government on Thursday. They will approve the agreement reached with Hamas to release the hostages held in Gaza. Moreover, it will stop the two-year war in the Palestinian Strip.
British welcome
For his part, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the agreement and urged its full implementation without delay.
“I welcome the news that an agreement has been reached on the first phase of President Trump’s Gaza peace plan,” Starmer said in a statement.
He added: “This agreement must now be implemented fully and without delay. Furthermore, it should be accompanied by an immediate lifting of all restrictions imposed on life-saving humanitarian aid to Gaza”.

- UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed the agreement, saying: “All hostages must be released with dignity. A permanent ceasefire agreement must be reached. The fighting must stop once and for all. The suffering must end.”
- Canada welcomed Israel and Hamas’ agreement to implement the first phase of Trump’s peace plan.
- Prime Minister of India: “We welcome the agreement on the first phase of Trump’s peace plan, and this also reflects the strong leadership of Prime Minister Netanyahu”.
