In a rare visit to civilians, News Nation gained exclusive access to this top-secret facility. This visit aims to show the public what it describes as “America’s last line of defense”.

This ultra-fortified shelter is about 10 miles from Colorado Springs.
It was built in 1966 to be a fortified command center in the event of a devastating attack by the United States.
Military leaders confirm that the facility is capable of withstanding a nuclear explosion with a power of several megatons.
That is, a thousand times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. This is even from a distance of only a mile and a half.
The underground complex operates as an integrated city. It is equipped with a power plant, heating and cooling systems. Additionally, it has a series of underground lakes that provide water.
Officials say the bunker contains enough food supplies “for a very long time”, while the exact details remain secret.
There is a tunnel inside the mountain, 3-foot-thick explosion-proof doors, and several security checkpoints.
Who is the supervisor of this fort?
General Gregory Guillot, commander of U.S. Northern Command and North American Air Defense Command, oversees the facility’s operations.
This four-star general is responsible for protecting the United States from threats.
From incursions by Russian aircraft and Chinese balloons, to drug trafficking and potential attacks.
Immune to all types of attacks
The facility is designed to withstand nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological attacks, as well as cyber terrorism and electromagnetic pulses.
The bunker is based on massive shock-absorbing springs capable of absorbing the impact of a nuclear explosion.
From within this underground headquarters, military commanders from the United States and Canada coordinate joint defense operations.
The complex also includes facilities to support staff around the clock, including the famous Subway restaurant.
“The facility is well worth what they spent on it in the early 1960s, and we use it today as it has been used in decades past,” General Guo said.
