MOSCOW, Russia – Russian forces have taken control of two new towns in both Donetsk and Zaporizhia, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.
The ministry said that the Russian army took control of the town of Moravka in Donetsk and Novo-Ivanovka in Zaporizhia.
She pointed out that Russian forces were also able to improve their positions on various fronts with Ukraine.
The ministry’s statement also noted that Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses in lives and equipment during a week of military operations on various fronts.
The statement explained that Russian forces carried out 4 series of strikes during the past week.
It hit Ukrainian energy, fuel and transportation infrastructure facilities used by Ukrainian forces.
“From September 13 to 19, Russian forces carried out four strikes using precision-guided weapons and attack drones,” the Defense Ministry statement said.
“These strikes targeted Ukrainian energy, fuel, and transportation infrastructure facilities used by Ukrainian forces, including arsenals, a training center for drone system operators, long-range drone collection, storage, and launch sites, and temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian forces, nationalists, and foreign mercenaries,” he added.
The ministry noted that throughout the week, units of the Russian Northern Group targeted a number of Ukrainian brigades in Sumy Oblast.
Meanwhile, units of a mechanized infantry brigade, an offensive regiment of Ukrainian forces, two regional defense brigades, and a brigade of the National Guard were targeted on the Kharkiv axis.
