Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese state television announced on Saturday that Lebanese artist and musician Ziad Rahbani passed away.
Rahbani was born on January 1, 1956. His mother is Nouhad Haddad, the world-famous artist known as Fairuz. His father is Assi Rahbani, one of the Rahbani brothers, pioneers of Lebanese music and theater. He began his artistic career in the early 1970s, when he presented his first famous play, “Sahriya.” He later wrote and composed immortal songs for his mother, Fairuz, such as “Kaifak Inta” and “Bala Wala Shi.”

Rahbani is known for his modern music and critical political plays that depict Lebanese reality with subtle humor. His style is characterized by its irony and depth in addressing local issues and topics, with many Lebanese repeating his quotes and excerpts from his plays in their daily conversations.
Rahbani composed some of his mother, the great artist Fairuz, for her most famous songs.
