Paris, France – Uncertainty is growing over Ousmane Dembele’s future with Paris Saint-Germain, as negotiations to renew his contract have stalled recently.
According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain’s management does not consider renewing Ousmane Dembélé’s contract a current priority. They are focusing more on securing the future of their younger players, particularly Bradley Barcola.
Paris Saint-Germain had opened negotiations with the player last December, but Dembélé rejected the offer. He demanded a pay rise following his 2025 Ballon d’Or win, prompting the club’s management to postpone negotiations until the end of the season.
The report indicated that Dembele’s level during the remainder of the season, especially in the Champions League, will be a decisive factor in determining the club’s stance on renewing his contract, as a stellar performance could give him an advantage in negotiations.
Meanwhile, several Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs are closely monitoring the player’s situation, prepared to make a move for him should negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain fall through.
Dembele, 28, joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 from Barcelona for €50 million, and his current contract runs until June 2028.
The French winger has played 31 matches for the team this season in various competitions, during which he scored 14 goals.
